As our businesses grow, as does the need for more reliability and better adapted Radio technologies. Sometimes our business direction changes and other times you might use ‘end of life’ assets as an opportunity to review the current technology and evaluate if there is something a bit more suited to your requirements. There is of course, a lot of work in planning and engineering an upgrade solution and there is equally a lot of work in executing the project scope successfully. And often simply deciding to upgrade your radio system can be a bit of a rabbit hole as that may also entail parallel power and infrastructure upgrades.
Over the years, we have been involved in both Digital DMR and Analog TAIT radio upgrades as well as Microwave Transmission and Battery and Rectifier upgrades spanning across networks thousands of kilometres long. We have a very good understanding of the amount of work that goes into getting it right in the field. Down to every detail is important as even an RF termination not up to spec, can cause PIMs (Passive Intermodulation) and performance issues. And a good system designed well is only as good as the people installing it. In fact, our Business here at WoWW was born out of this very theory. After working as employees for large Business identities such as Ergon Energy and Queensland Rail, we came to find that often it was easier to do the work ourselves being that Contractors were seemingly unreliable and were held unaccountable for poor and sometimes unsafe installation methods. But poor workmanship was not often due to negligence it was more often lack of experience specific to the industry and the understanding of system operability. We know what it takes to do good work and if you aren’t happy, we aren’t happy! We ask the right questions to get it right so that your employees are safe!
